As for homes in Western Ukraine, there’s no shortage of them. Again: Ukraine is in a state of demographic collapse, because of Zelensky’s meat grinders and the fact that millions of Ukrainians have left for the west, and have no intentions to return to the corrupt, bankrupt state it has been turned into.
Aside from the BILLIONS in property values DESTROYED by Putin, there are FEW who have "friends and family" in Russia to buy something in Ukraine. SELLING an apartment in a war threatened area is extraordinarily difficult. For someone who has "been in Ukraine" you show little understanding of reality. EVERYTHING in property sales in Ukraine is a CASH transaction. Not easy, and if you are gonna BUY somewhere to live, you need CASH to PAY for it... which means selling your previous home if you want to move. Yes, many in Ukraine have left for the west. But those with homes that have been destroyed in the war need places to live as well. Some who are leaving for the west will sell, some will let family and friends who have lost their homes stay in them, and some who are leaving for the west hope to someday return, and so they will keep what they have. My Ukrainian wife andI have 2 homes in Ukraine, and have been there recently. Your ignorance of reality in Ukraine is appalling.
P.S. Not to mention that MANY friends in Kyiv (are you Russian? It is NOT Kiev any longer) will have more than unkind words for you. MORE Stepan Bandera clones...

The war will end with pretty much the same points negotiated in Minsk I & II in 2015 that the NeoCons sabotaged, but the Donbas instead of being an autonomous buffer zone will be part of Russia and Putin will take a bigger bite of territory to create a new buffer zone. Should be the final humiliation and hopefully the end of the NeoCon contingent. All for the cost of a couple of 100k people needlessly sacrificed for what?.

Maybe the meeting was not about the Ukraine? Maybe they are talking over very different (much bigger) issues? Sure, the Ukraine probably plays a role, but no more than that?

Peace is clearly an impossible goal right now.
Russia is winning and has no interest in going below their minimum goals.
Zelensky, backed by the Europeans, is clearly more interested in holding on to power and continuing his scams.
Trump needs to ignore the Europeans, sidestep the issue of the war, and deal bilaterally with the Russians on matters of mutual interest. Dropping sanctions would be a boon for American business and would lower energy prices.
I’m sure there are juicy contracts to pick up in reconstruction in the Donbas as well. As well as a car market in a nation of 140 million that has been left to the Chinese.
In positing a return to any scale of trade with the USA, Russians will carefully consider "If I buy this, can I get parts for it from someplace other than the USA?" That's a lesson that has been well-learned now - if you depend on America for anything; airplane engines, whatever, it will eventually be used as 'leverage' against you.
At least if all the hand-waving fails and no agreement can be concluded, resulting in unconditional surrender for Ukraine, Trump will have successfully outsourced failure to Europe.
So, Zelensky is back in Kiev., and so is Zaluzhny. I halfway expected Zelensky to scram and seek asylum somewhere far from Ukraine and Azov, but I must admit the man has chutzpah.
As for Zaluzhny, did he come back for a shot at the presidency, or does he want in on a piece of the action while there's still time? We certainly live in interesting times.
