There is something that can significantly improve the damage done, and help heal a TBI. It is an herbal medication, Lion's Mane Mushroom. There are only a couple of small scale Japanese studies of this medication, but they showed signficant improvment. No one will pay for large scale studies, because the medication is dirt cheap, and no one can make any money from it. Anecdotally, it has had some remarkable results. Only the US military may be able to run some large scale studies to prove or disprove that Lion's Mane Mushroom works. Personally, I have seen indisputable and convincing evidence that it works.

Dear Stephen, This is vitally important information regarding TBI in vets, but you fail to mention the most important therapy for such injuries: PhotoBioModulation (PBM) or LED light therapy to the brains of these patients. PBM is also well documented to be helpful for NFL players who suffer from Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). The Honorable Scot Faulkner of the US Congress is a great resource on this topic - https://www.scotfaulkner.com/biography.php- smf53@aol.com, as is Dr. Paolo Cassano - pcassano@mgh.harvard.edu -

who heads the Harvard Medical School/Mass General Hospital study group on using PBM to treat TBI. Thanks for shining light on this subject. Dr. Harvey Kaltsas, harvey@kaltsas.com
