If even a small part of Ukraine remains as an "independent state," the war will resume in a few years. Russia does not need such a solution. Russia has realized that the West cannot be trusted, and the West will continue to prepare Ukraine for war. If we want peace in Europe, the former Ukraine must be disbanded.

An alternative summary could go like this. After the US convinced Georgia to start an incursion against Russia in 2008, every country should have learned that the US will drop all their help once it gets serious, because nobody wants to risk WW3.

Therefore, the only reason the US helped Ukraine is because it used Ukraine as a proxy against Russia. Biden's words about regime change and crumbling the Russian economy made that clear.

With the reality of that now kicking in, Ukrainians have the opportunity to finally see what this war is about and realize that they were used as a proxy. I would laugh if Ukrainians finally see what has happened to them and that they were used and therefore align again with Russia.

And for Stephen, this war could have been easily avoided if the West ever cared about the people in Donbass. A simple refendum would have solved this issue over night. But sadly, nobody in the West ever asked what the people in Donbass want, especially after the Maidan in 2014.
