This is a good, balanced report, although my opinion differs concerning Russia's reactions to Ukraine's attacks on Russian soil. The Russians aren't stupid. They've made significant changes to their internal security. But that doesn't mean that there won't be successful attacks mounted by Ukraine. Russia has the longest borders in the world, and preventing all infiltration attacks by saboteurs and drones is impossible. The best case scenario is to reduce such attacks to a minimum and prevent them from doing truly serious damage. Russia appears to have accomplished this so far, as no Ukrainian attack has come close to altering the trajectory of the war.

It might be worthwhile to point out that even six years after the USA declared "Mission Accomplished" in Iraq, their soldiers were still taking casualties, typically from sabotage and infiltration operations by insurgents, ISIS and others. Such tactics are almost impossible to prevent completely.

Will Russia or Ukraine win the war? Ukraine has already lost it. The country is effectively destroyed as a functioning, sustainable state. The USA and Europe cannot afford the cost of continuing to maintain 100% of Ukraine's military, social and economic needs. Even if Russia were to pack up and go home today, Ukraine is no longer a viable country. I expect the fighting will continue for some time yet, but the consequence of the war has already been determined.

Pointing out reality gets you labeled a Putin lover, though. So don't expect much reporting on the Russians advancing.
