Impressive to think this was written in the fog of early news, at the time I first got covid. Right now covid is not the biggest issue in the news anymore, but my family and I have had it twice despite vaccinations and I don't think we humans are finished with it. Instead of evolving to optimal virulence, can such a synthetic virus evolve in more unpredictable ways and make a comeback much worse than when first introduced?

I really cannot answer your question about future mutations of Covid. I don't think any scientists know, and I am so skeptical of them I rather don't believe much of what they say anyway. In Covid we learned how the medical profession has become craven and dishonest, or atr minimum easily intimidated. Shameful, and the US was in it up to its armpits.
