The U.S. has had naval assets in the area around the conflict zone there for a year at least. They are there to monitor the situation and respond if American interests are sufficietntly threatened. America gets to decide exactly what American nterests are as well as the perceived threat at any particular moment.
Why doesn't Biden react in any way? No comments, no retaliations. Even if Iran has had "industrial accidents", to most of the world it looks as if the US is backing away, and that impression can in itself have consequences.
Thanks for your post. I wondered about the Yemeni originated missiles supposedly directed to Israel. It seemed like pretty long range stuff for the Houthis to have with some to spare for third party conflicts. It makes much more sense for the Houthis to strike at American assets right on their doorstep.
My first thought was damn good shooting by the ship since the Houthi missile would have been moving away from the ship. A stern chase is a long chase even when talking about missiles. I'm speaking comparatively, of course. But moving towards an Arleigh Burke in a frontal attack, well that is exactly what they are set up to deal with.
Iran has a series of "industrial accidents"?
The question remains: What was USS Carney doing in The Red Sea in the first place?
It was in transit to the Suez Canal and normally performs patrol operations in the region.

Maybe the corruption is too deep
If the Yemini have missiles that can reach Israel why havent they used them on Riyadh ?
The missiles have to take a long flight over Saudi Arabia, and Jordan, to reach Israel, and Riyadh
is around half the distance to Israel...
They don't have them

This is NOT the first time.
