In the meantime, Kiev attacked Sevastopol with ATACAMs missiles causing many casualties at the beach there. That's the way Kiev has been fighting since 2014.Terrorize the Russian speaking/ethnic Russian population by all means.

It's kind of hilarious that Kiev still thinks it can get Crimea or the Donbass back. Even if it did militarily, who on earth would want to live under a regime like that?

The nature thing to do would have been to ask the people in Donbass and Crimea after the Maidan who they want to belong to. But nobody in the West cared about the people. The West doesn't care about Ukrainians now either, or it would have tried to stop the bloodshed.

It's all about weakening Russia and its economy, which has backfired. So, now imagine the war is over and Russia has some money and resources to spend on messing with Europe and the US. Supplying North Korea with some advanced weapons is just the beginning, kiddos.

Not Kiev. The US. And the simultaneous attack on the church and synagogue in Dagestan is even more significant. US has become a plain old state sponsor of terror. Policymakers responsible should be dealt with accordingly.

Silly thing to write. Russia invaded first, after all. Blood’s on their hands. I don’t see the point in getting all hysterical about “the West” yadda yadda when Russia picked the time and place of the war. If it goes on supplying advanced weapons to North Korea, Russians can just get used to never getting out from sanctions again. Sucks to suck.

The conflict started a lot earlier than the war, but that doesn't seem to interest you.

You mean the sanctions that bring Russia 3.6% growth a year and made it the 4th biggest economy if you consider PPP? The Russians are so scared....

Apparently the ATACAMS were targeted by Russian anti-missile fire, and exploded before their targets, but, unfortunately, over the beaches.

Thanks for this. Easily digestible information for a layman such as me!

Good summary.

Doesn’t seem to be making a big difference.

Bit weird Russia hasn’t been able to take out any meaningful C2 centers with these things. Probably needs to improve targeting cycle.

The next step forward would be launching these cheap glide bombs from a much cheaper platform. Maneuverable high-altitude balloons could be the answer. While total sitting ducks, they can be potentially very effective when used alongside decoys. Imagine you're in charge of air defense and 50 balloons are slowly drifting into your airspace. What do you do? Do you send up fighters to shoot them all down? If you do then you might ending up losing 50 AAMs to 50 dummy balloons. If you don't and it so happens that 1 of the 50 carries a live bomb, then you're screwed. You're really, really screwed if all 50 are the real deal.
